The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) was established in 2000 to provide VA investigators with a well-equipped, controlled and safe outpatient setting in which to conduct clinical research studies.

The CRU is located at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System’s Seattle campus on the 1st floor of building 1 in rooms 117 to 127.  This location is central to the medical center and is convenient for investigators, clinicians, staff and patients.  The CRU space currently comprises 2 exam rooms, 1 procedure room with 2 beds, a lab processing room with a refrigerated centrifuge and kitchen space.

A new clinical research facility is in construction and is scheduled to be completed in 2018. The new CRU will cover 5,641 gross square feet and will be located on the fifth floor.
